The Paris 2024 Olympic Games brought together people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and nations in the spirit of friendly competition.

For 2 weeks it seemed like everyone was captivated by the multitude of events to watch and cheer on, from the obscure to the mainstream.  We became experts in bmx riding, canoe slalom, diving & pole vault to name but a few!

Many athletes had stories of overcoming adversity, injuries, personal losses and political barriers.  Their ability, resilience and perseverance to rise above such obstacles and achieve greatness can inspire us all to overcome our own day to day struggles.

For example, we saw Georgia Bell take Olympic bronze in the 1500m after an epic journey back from athletic retirement.  At 27 she was inspired by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to return to running starting with parkrun, and went from strength to strength.   Working with her coaches she supplemented hours of running for cycling which helped keep her previous recurrent injuries at bay, and improved so much that in April 2023, she won the Duathlon World Championships in the female 30-34 age group, in Ibiza. And as we saw taking an Olympic bronze last week in Paris.  An amazing and inspiring story!

“I can’t thank you enough for the help you have given me.  I was apprehensive returning to competing after the year off, and you gave me the confidence to get my fitness back within the constraints of a busy life.  Thank you for being the little voice always there keeping me going”

” You raised my self belief and instilled in me a ‘can do’ attitude…:
